You may have visited so many houses of your relatives, friends, neighbors, and colleagues. If I ask you to visualize the most beautiful one, which entryway comes to your mind in a blink of an eye? What makes it so special to take a special spot in your mind?

So now let’s dig deep.

Yeah, it’s obvious that an entryway should be stunning, jaw-dropping, and dramatic which takes your guests’ breath away. But you are the one who lives in your home most of the time. Therefore the entryway should be more exciting to you too.

We usually call grand entryways to every single entryway but let’s see how to make your own entryway the true definition of a grand entryway.

Make something extravagant

We can’t judge a book by its cover, but when it comes to a house, the entryway is the first impression to whoever comes to your house. It can be your guest or even you. Imagine coming home from a long day at your office and you drive or walk to your house, open the gate, you see your grand entrance which leads to your loving living space… it can give you Goosebumps if it is the true DEFINITION OF A GRAND ENTRYWAY. When you see your entrance it should make you feel your charisma and so powerful like a king who enters his castle whether you are having an apartment or a mansion, modern or classic.

For example, it can be a pot of Petunias that reminds you of your mom, a painting which is related to your painful past which gives you the motivation to grow more, your name to show how important you are, a statue which shows love is love, something that brings back your childhood memory or anything that you love or anything that gives you the motivation to stay strong. Everyone will be amazed when you describe your detail-oriented entryway which tells a story that touches your soul. A designed house comes with every single detail you like to add because that’s the difference between stage houses and designed houses. So think about it when you design your entrance.

Add some drama

We love surprises. Don't you? So why not with the entryway! Think you have to cross a water fountain with Koi fish to enter the front door using step-in stones surrounded by water lilies, a huge staircase which leads you to your front door from motor court, a floor to ceiling water wall which gives you peaceful mind every single time you enter your home, a live-green-wall, a bridge or cascading waterfalls can take drama to the next level.

Also, you can show a little bit of your stunning living room, dining room, or office room through glass walls, doors, or picture windows. This will thrill your guests about your home.

Choose the right design

Entryways can come in all sizes and shapes, duh. So you don’t have to worry about it if you have a small entryway space or a gigantic space. All you have to do is think… how can I make this entrance cool? You may come with so many ideas. Write down all the plans/designs you came up with. Visualize them with you walking down there, then you can pick the best design for your entrance. You can get some help from your family or friends who have good taste and skills of imagination. If you have a small walk-away to your entrance put some live-green walls, Moroccan floor lamps, and light strips. It will add an elegant look. On the other hand try tessellation art using lawn grass if you have a huge space.

There are so many textures we can use to decorate our entryway. Glass, wood, steel, marble, stone, bricks, and many more. Use the best match for the place. Before selecting, feel every texture. You might have a hard time choosing among them but take your time and choose the right one for you. Try every possible practical way to visualize how good it will be in the entryway.

Be practical

You may have seen so many videos on YouTube and a lot of the houses are a little bit beyond the reality. So when you design your entryway think about how practical it is. Well for me a welcome doormat and a shoe rack are the things i really appreciate in my entryway. But if you are not cool with it think smart and be creative. Use a huge mat instead of a smaller one cuz you may carry mud, snow, dust, etc. Make sure that your shoe rack is cute. If you are practical enough with your design, every single day will be so easy and trust me you’ll love it.
